Definition:

An acronym for Chief Technology Officer, the corporate officer responsible for technology issues within the company.

Examples:

With all of the problems with hackers and viruses, many CTOs budget millions of dollars to make sure their corporation’s web sites are as secure as possible.

A good CTO will make sure that all aspects of a company’s on-line systems – shipping & receiving, accounting, web sales, and advertising – are completely integrated.
