Definition:

A legal agreement between two parties. Contracts can be for activities, transactions, or promises of future action or inaction.

Examples:

The contract detailed all of the legal aspects of the agreement with the client.

The County Commission posted a request for bids on the contract to build three new bridges as part of the roads improvement project.
